History of Trojan War

The Trojan War, a well-known conflict in Greek mythology, spanned an uninterrupted decade. King Menelaus of Sparta, Greece, instigated this grand war when Paris, the second prince of Troy, abducted his wife Queen Helen, renowned as the most beautiful woman in the world.

Conquering Troy was no easy feat, as it required traversing mountains, seas, and deserts. Additionally, Troy's impenetrable fortifications were constructed by the deities Apollo and Poseidon, with skilled leadership from Troy's astute general, Hector - the brother prince of Paris.

After ten years of relentless battle in Troy, the Greeks realized victory could not be achieved through sheer military prowess. Following Odysseus's scheme, they constructed a wooden horse (the Trojan Horse), pretended to withdraw their forces, and left behind one individual. This individual deceived the Trojan army into believing that the wooden horse was a peace offering to compensate for the destroyed statue of Athena. Unbeknownst to the Trojans, the horse concealed Greek soldiers within. Once inside the city gates, the Greeks emerged from the horse and initiated their triumphant victory over their enemies.
